Ok, lets look at the ad and see where they out and out lied in their description. I will add pictures where I can so you can see for yourself the deception these good ole boys use in their ad, besides taking pictures in bad lighting and painting with flat black to further hide what they don't want you to see.
The first paragraph is all pretty true, it is a 1969 R/T, it did come out of the St. Louis plant with a red paint job and a black vinyl top and a black interior, it did have a 440 with an auto transmission.
Now, onto the second paragraph. I will take it lie, I mean line by line;
"Looks like it still has all of it's original body panels on it" does this next picture look like an original body panel to you?
"The trunk pan has already been cut out and is ready for the new one to be installed" Does this look like the trunk pan was cut out? It certainly in not ready for a new one to be installed either!
"The 1/4's have the typical Charger rust and will need some easy work done to them" Yes, they do have rust in the typical area that a Charger tends to rust, but unless you are a pro there will be nothing "easy" about it since the whole left (driver side) will need to be replaced, the right side I may be able to get away with just a 1/4 skin.
"The rear window area looks to be nice and solid!" Another example of their creative use of bad lighting and flat black primer paint!
"The rear rails will need some work but should be easy to do!" The rear rails will need to be replaced from the axel hump back, also the shock crossmember needs to be replaced.

"The car is pretty complete and has a big block on the car that is not running!" I'm not sure what someone would call "pretty complete" but the only lights on it are the head lights, the bumpers are missing, the front and rear valance are missing, as you have seen the trunk is pretty much AWOL. There is a big block but it's a 383 not a 440. The next line reads "Most of the interior is there but will need to be redone!" Most fo the interior is not there! it has the back seat, a steering wheel that needs to be replaced, not redone, it has the dash with guages, and heater - that is all! In some of the pictures you can see front seats, these seats are out of a ford and are completley useless to me. The last sentene says this "Over all this baby is something worth putting the time and effort into and would also be a nice Hemi clone!" It is a real R/T but not a rare R/T, it apears to not be a high option car. Yeah it would make a nice Hemi clone but after all the other work I have to do I doubt I will have the money to buy a Hemi.
The third paragraph is not worth the time, it has all the usual trappings to make the sale rock solid on their part.
We filled a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General, I asked the wife to cc e-bay (she did not). We asked for half our money back or that they refund the price of the car and we would eat the cost of shipping to us, they can pay to have it shipped back, long story short, after a couple of letters (along with a couple more phone calls), back and forth to the Attorney General we get a letter from the Illinois AG stating that their attempts at mediation failed and there was nothing she could do. We then contacted an attorney, he said he would take the case and felt confident that we would win but, he told us that we would probably only get enough money to cover his costs. We then filed a complaint with the FBI internet fraud department and have heard nothing. So much for justice!
If you see an ad from these crooks just keep going, they will lie cheat and steal from you without even thinking about it!
